Installation ------------ The following files MUST be installed: locmgr.prc llmgr.prc If you have downloaded a pre-compiled database such as locdbus.pdb you can install it as well. Note that only 1 pre-compiled database can be used at a time. Changes in this version ----------------------- v1.60: * Changed DST rules to comply with new United States & Canada rules v1.51: * Fixed a bug where "Adjust Time" would truncate seconds v1.50: * No real change to user portion, but it's much easier to implement Location Manager support now in Code Warrior v1.24: * Fixed a few more display bugs v1.23: * Fixed a bug that would cause minutes < 10 to display incorrectly * Changed degree.minute form to more appropriate symbols v1.22: * Fixed a few DST calc problems * Got rid of the warning about no static DB if you don't have a pre-compiled DB installed. v1.21: * Fixed a Palm V compatibility issue (This possibly fixed a random crash bug too) * Fixed the crash that would happen if you had no static database or custom database and clicked "Ok" Operation --------- There are essentially two main screens to Location Manager. The first screen is the location selection screen. If you have installed a pre-compiled database, you will see them displayed in a list box on the screen. If you add custom cities, they will appear above the pre-compiled database cities in the list. To select a city, hilite it and simply press "Ok". If the city you have picked is in a different timezone than your previous location, the Adjust Time checkbox will become marked. If it is left checked it will automatically adjust your Pilot's clock for you. It should not adjust your clock the first time you select a city, however. If you wish Location Manager to automatically calculate DST settings, check the Observe DST checkbox. If you want to add a new city, click Add and fill out all the fields. When you click "Ok" the city will be added to the top of the city selection list. You can later edit this city by hiliting it and clicking Edit. If you want to get rid of it, you can simply hilite it and click Delete. Note that cities from the pre-compiled database CANNOT be editted or deleted at this time. However if you do not wish to have any pre-compiled cities, you can delete the "Location - Static DB" file from your Memory application. Known Bugs ---------- All known bugs have been fixed, though due to some confusion over Australian timezone DST rules, correct DST operation for Australian locations is questionable. This is under investigation. Liability --------- The author of Location Manager is not affiliated with Palm Computing, and is not liable for any damages caused to the user or the user's computer equipment (including both their home PC and their Pilot). This program has been tested on a PalmPilot Professional and a Palm III and to the best of the author's knowledge will not harm similar equipment.
